It was smiles all round as Port Talbot Camera Club was awarded the Walter Morgan trophy for the best club panel of six dpi in the WPF Salon, on Saturday 9th April, writes Susan Martin. Later, it was smiles again as Darren Boxer collected his award for the best projected image in the competition. The opening of the Salon at the Blaenavon Heritage Centre, was well attended by the 40 clubs in the federation that entered this year, though there were a few noticeable absentees, including representatives for Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda and Morriston. Photographers and guests had the opportunity to view the beautifully displayed prints in the upstairs exhibition area, the quality of which was in my view particularly high this year. It was a treat to see our clubs prints framed and on display. Other awards went to Tenby and Gwynfa, who jointly won the Gwyn Morgan club print trophy while Port Talbot Camera Club came third in this competition. Dennis Russ, Friday Focus's regular guest reporter was awarded his AWPF and Jennifer Cox was presented with her WPF past president’s medal. Ann Davies received her award for the best still life print and our member Gary Collyer, though sadly unable to attend was awarded a medal for the highest average score in the

nature section of the Welsh International.
